On the 8th of February took place the Final Conference of the European project Mentor Up organised by Backslash in collaboration with the City Council of Quart de Poblet, where the results of the project and the work that has been done during its two years of duration were presented to the attendees. The European Mentor Up project, coordinated by Quart de Poblet Town Council, aims to provide mentoring tools to organisations and volunteers in order to improve the quality of the processes of accompanying volunteers, as well as to contribute to the improvement of the basic competences of the mentors who provide this support in the context of European Solidarity Corps (ESC) projects.

The conference was structured in such a way that the results of the project could be communicated to the attendees, as well as generating spaces for debate on the role of mentoring in volunteering. The event ended with a round table of experiences in volunteering with the participation of three young people with experience in the ESC, in different volunteering at local or regional level and in mentoring processes, where they reflected on the figure of the mentor and the importance of volunteering for social change.

This conference is the culmination of a project that has been running at regional level for two years and which has generated, among other things, a methodological guide on mentoring and a virtual learning platform, open and available to all those who work with volunteers or want to learn about group management.
